NMVA Board Meeting--November 1st at 10AM
in the Meeting House on the Green in New Marlborough
The New Marlborough Village Association
was organized in 1976 with three primary goals:1. To undertake the restoration of the Meeting House, a splendid Greek revival structure designed by the noted architect Henry Sykes and built in 1839, and maintenance of the village green.
2. To foster interest in and appreciation of the natural beauty, historical traditions and
architectural heritage of New Marlborough, which will celebrate the 250th anniversary of incorporation in 2009.3. To sponsor and otherwise promote public programming intended to enhance the artistic, cultural and civic life of our community and the surrounding south Berkshire county area.
Now thirty years later we are about to embark on an ambitious capital campaign to ensure the preservation of the Meeting House for another generation and to permit the expansion of our reach as a cultural and community center. With no full-time staff we are almost entirely dependent on volunteers to accomplish our mission. Please consider joining the Village Association, and do take advantage of programs we offer.
